Am i being to clingy?

so meh and someone that i love and he loves me back.. we are going to date in less than a week.. and he workz all day.. but sometimes he doesnt even text meh until like 1 in the morning saying sorry been working all day... and i usually send him like 3 messages a day sayin im worried or i hope he is safe.... or just i love you... and yesterday i sent him a voicemail.. and he text meh saying he doesnt want a clingy chic.. and i was thinking... how is that clingy?
